Grassroots efforts often embody the transformative potential needed to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. This special session, Empowering Voices: Women-Led Grassroots Movements in the Global Peace and Security Landscape, highlights the critical role of grassroots actors in driving real change.
The event showcases four extraordinary women leaders who have led organizations tackling key global challenges such as human trafficking, climate resilience, global advocacy and refugee integration. Through their innovative approaches and resourceful strategies, these leaders exemplify how individuals and small organizations can take on monumental issues and contribute meaningfully to the global peace and security agenda.
This interactive session will delve into the importance of inclusive decision-making and the role of grassroots voices in shaping policy and implementation. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on ways to support and amplify these efforts as part of a collective approach to global peacebuilding.
